Minimum Advertised Pricing (MAP)
AV Costar has built a strong reputation and following among sales partners, technology partners, and end-user customers. AV Costar does not support advertising or promotional materials that have the effect of diminishing or detracting from the perceived value of AV Costar products.
Effective as of March 8, 2019, AV Costar has established a Minimum Advertised Price (“MAP”), identified on the AV Costar Price List. The policy applies to authorized security dealers, systems integrators, and distributors.
The MAP policy operates under the following guidelines:

The MAP for all subject AV Costar products shall be no less than 90% of the price listed on the AV Costar Official MSRP list. MAP pricing is established by AV Costar for specific products and may be adjusted by the company at its sole discretion.

The MAP policy applies to all advertisements of subject AV Costar products in any and all media, including but not restricted to flyers, posters, coupons, mailers, inserts, newspapers, magazines, catalogs, mail order catalogs, Internet or similar electronic media, television, radio, and public signage.

The MAP policy is not applicable to any in-store advertising.

MAP applies only to advertised prices and does not apply to the price at which the products are actually sold or offered for sale to an individual client within the retail location or over the telephone.

MAP does not establish maximum advertised prices. All dealers and distributors may offer AV Costar products at any price in excess of the MAP established for such a product.

AV Costar’s MAP policy does not in any way limit the ability of any dealer to advertise that “they have the lowest prices” or, that they “will meet or beat any competitors price”, that consumers should “call for a price”, or phrases of similar import as long as the price advertised for the products is not less than MAP.

From time to time AV Costar may discontinue models or engage in promotions with respect to certain products. In such events, AV Costar reserves the right to modify or suspend the MAP with respect to the affected products.
The consequences of violating this MAP Policy are significant.
In the event of a violation, the security dealer, systems integrator, or distributor will lose authorization to purchase the product depicted in the violating advertisement. For the end-user, products purchased from non-authorized sales channels do not include the AV Costar warranty. AV Costar may act without providing prior notice or issuing any warnings before taking any action against MAP violators under this policy.
AV Costar reserves the right to modify or suspend this MAP policy.
