Arecont Vision Announces Advanced Channel Partner Certifications

Las Vegas, NV (April 6, 2011) - Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, unveiled a new Advanced Channel Partner Certification here at ISC West 2011. The certification program is designed to further educate security professionals on how to effectively design video surveillance systems that incorporate the performance and economic advantages that megapixel video technology provides.

“As the leader in IP-based megapixel technology, Arecont Vision is taking the lead in megapixel education as well, to ensure systems are integrated by knowledgeable and skilled installers,” said Jason Schimpf, Director of Partner Relations, Arecont Vision. “Our new Advanced Channel Partner Certification Program will help better prepare channel partners so they can maximize the cost benefits and added functionality of megapixel video.” The Advanced Channel Partner Certification Program includes advanced training in designing and installing megapixel camera systems. Attendees will also receive detailed explanations of how Arecont Vision exposure/shutter controls work in varying light conditions, how lighting and illumination affect megapixel cameras, and how to maximize H.264 bandwidth savings. Topics include pixel density (pixels on target), field-of-view, optics (what to look for and why), sensors (and how they affect video quality, low-light performance, and field-of-view) and best practices for providing power to megapixel cameras. The first two sessions will be held May 10-11 and June 14-15 at Arecont Vision's headquarters in Glendale, California.

Another topic in the Advanced Channel Partner Certification Program sessions will cover the impact of choosing megapixel cameras on network components such as routers, switches and network infrastructure (fiber, coax and wireless). Also explained will be how various video management system (VMS) platforms operate with megapixel technology, including how Arecont Vision's MegaLab testing facility ensures effective integration with third-party suppliers. Attendees will also learn how to properly calculate storage requirements and choose the appropriate storage type for a megapixel system. Breakout sessions will provide students hands-on opportunities to implement projects related to session topics, thus ensuring that students fully understand how to design and specify a full megapixel system.
