Paul Green of Arecont Vision made the point that users may expect security products to work as well as they do in the movies, seeing close up detail of faces or car number plates at long distance. He went through the US megapixel camera company’s products, including omni-directional and panoramic cameras, and the use of wide dynamic range to deal with dark and bright in the same image, as he showed in a clip of a shutter opening and brining sunlight into a dark garage. Megapixel cameras, he said, allow users to maximize scene resolution and cover a wider field of view, which can mean fewer cameras.
